Although we won’t last too long as our team is quite primitive, and we will be defeated quickly. As soon as we start, we are inside the first dungeon. Over time the dungeons were closed due to their dangerousness, people abandoned their homes and the city was reduced both by its businesses and in population. But dungeons are not child’s play and people died inside if they were not vigilant. When they first appeared, the nearest small town began to come alive thanks to the trade generated by selling the unique items that could be found there. Will, our protagonist, is the heir to Moonlighter, a shop where items found in dungeons are sold. Considering the nature of dungeon crawling, most of the game’s play time will be spent mowing down enemies in an attempt to find valuables. Morning and night aren’t simply two distinct halves of the core gameplay loop, but they actually influence one another. Money earned during the morning can be used to buy new armour and weapons, while items found during the night can then be sold at the shop during the morning. While the structure itself is fine as is, what elevates the morning/night dichotomy is the synergy between the two halves of Will’s days.
